Reap Benefits From This Multi-Service Firm

Erin L. Deady, P.A., was formed in 2011 by Erin Deady as a multi-service law and urban planning firm to solve today’s environmental and land use challenges.

“It’s rare that these two disciplines are combined in one firm,” she says.

Clients are mainly local governments in Florida. Deady helps them prepare for climate change’s impact, including determining what infrastructure to adapt, such as what roads and sea walls to elevate. She aids them in devising a planning and funding approach. Also, she helps local governments put these issues into their community growth plans. Recently, the firm also started doing real estate closings.

“I feel like we’re on the cutting edge of helping local governments respond to the things that they’ll need to do to deal with climate change,” she says. “I’m one of the few firms in Florida working on this from a legal perspective.”

The firm also represents other land use and development interests.

Deady is a frequent lecturer and author on climate change, energy, environmental restoration and public finance issues, statewide and nationally. She is a member of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of The Florida Bar and its Resiliency Committee. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Florida chapter of the American Planning Association. She’s received certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the U.S. Green Building Council. She has participated multiple times in the Southernmost AIDS Ride, a cycle event from Miami to Key West, to raise funds for AIDS/HIV charities.

Deady earned her Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. She got her master’s of public administration at Florida Atlantic University, starting the program at the University of the Virgin Islands, and she received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.

A resident of east Lantana, Deady has a 2-year-old daughter and two cats. As long as the weather cooperates, you’ll find the family on their boat.
