Taking Your Personal Injury Case Personally

Thomas Cubit, a former basketball player at the University of Central Florida, brings the same competitive edge he displayed on the court to the courtroom as a personal injury lawyer at the Law Office of Cubit and Cubit. 

He has won several verdicts for his clients in excess of $1 million and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. 

“Less than 1 percent of lawyers get that designation,” he says. “It’s limited to attorneys who have gotten verdicts in excess of $1 million, of which we have received multiple verdicts.”

After graduating from UCF, Cubit worked as an insurance adjuster, defending insurance companies. But he quickly found out he was more interested in helping victims.

“My athletic background gave me a competitive spirit, and, as a personal injury attorney, it allowed me to fight for victims and represent them to achieve the very best result for them,” he says.

For nearly 30 years, Cubit has been laser-focused on personal injury law. He started the Law Office of Cubit and Cubit with his father.

“My father taught me how to work hard and do it the right way,” he says.

He currently works with his wife, Andrea, a former lawyer from Colombia who recently received her masters in law from the University of Miami.

Cubit says the key to success is the personal relationships made with clients during the difficult and stressful time following an injury or loss.

“When you come to my office, you’re not just a number but rather my partner in advocating your case. I know every client I’ve had over the last 30 years. In his free time, Cubit volunteers in the community and coaches basketball.
