Rachel Blumberg - Wonder Woman 2021

Rachel Blumberg

Retirement Community

Rachel Blumberg is bringing her vision of the future to Toby & Leon Cooperman Sinai Residences of Boca Raton. Blumberg is Executive Director at the continuing care retirement community and is charged with overseeing the community’s expansion (high demand has led to Phase 2), ensuring a high quality and luxurious experience and integrating new technologies and innovations into the lives of all 400 residents.

Located on the campus of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, Sinai Residences is in the process of adding 111 new apartments for independent living, two restaurants, a state-of-the-art auditorium and a resort-style pool. Phase 2 is expected to be completed by April 2022.

Blumberg has been working with the senior demographic for most of her life. Her interest was born out of her volunteer work at a hospice when she was 18. By 24, she was running a multi-million-dollar skilled nursing and assisted living facility.

“I had to earn my way up and open doors by being persistent, dedicated and committed. When I felt like I couldn’t achieve my goals, I pushed myself harder to step out of my comfort zone. Those have been the most meaningful times of my career growth,” Blumberg says.

Twice a week you will find Blumberg dining with residents.

“I like getting to know who they are,” she says. “We develop a stronger bond when we break bread together.”

It’s in that dining room where one of Blumberg’s newest campus innovations can be found. Sinai Residences recently welcomed aboard Servi, a robot that brings dinner to the tables of residents each night.

“Our residents love Servi because they feel like they are getting a glimpse into the future,” she says. “I have more exciting innovations planned for this year.”

While Blumberg is bringing growth to the community, the residents also are adding to hers.

“The residents have taught me how resilient humans are. They share their triumphs and regrets. They taught me life is a marathon, not a sprint,” she says. “This community is vibrant, fun-filled and bursting with energy.”
