Andrea Reid

Dedicated Representation When You Need It Most

For more than a decade, attorney Andrea Reid has dedicated her professional life to making emotionally charged events, like divorce proceedings, as smooth as possible for her clients.

In fact, she started her own family law firm in Boca Raton to specifically focus on personal service.

“I represent a lot of business owners,” she says. “It’s important they keep running their business during these family matters. They need to know I’m here taking care of everything.”

Reid adds: “The divorce process cannot and should not impede their professional progress. The business owner has to know that our firm is effectively handling their divorce without interruption to their ability to earn income.”

As a mother, wife and business owner, she tirelessly works to mitigate the time, expense and emotional toil divorces and custody issues can have on families.

“Many clients have families to raise, businesses to run and work to do and can’t have the anxiety of the legal process interrupting that,” she says. “Our firm takes a serious approach to client care. Our staff makes sure legal needs are being met and that clients are being cared for in the process.”

Reid previously worked with Legal Aid of Palm Beach County, litigating divorce and domestic violence cases. She is actively involved in the Florida Bar Family Law Section, where she serves Florida’s families through lobbying and legislative efforts.

Family is the No. 1 priority for her, both inside and outside the courtroom. The mother of two boys and two surrogate boys says she always puts children first during sensitive court proceedings.

“Kids in divorce cases should not be collateral damage,” Reid says. “If lawyers take the ‘scorched Earth’ approach, they can adversely affect generations.”

She adds: “Lawyers’ behavior in family law means the difference between families sitting next to each other at graduation or being at the birth of a grandchild. Sometimes, one parent not being there has nothing to do with what happened in the marriage but what happened in the divorce proceedings, and I want to prevent that.”

In her free time, Reid and her husband, Jason, started the nonprofit Florida Youth Project, providing underserved children in the community with resources and the opportunity to participate in recreational sports.
