Women of all ages from throughout the Jewish community are invited to An Inspired Journey, a personal and humorous exploration of the Jewish holidays with author Abigail Pogrebin.
The event will open the women's season for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County on Nov. 7 at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton. Women may join at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast or at 7 p.m. for light bites.
Pogrebin is the author of the recently published book, "My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays, One Wondering Jew." A former producer for "60 Minutes" and "Bill Moyers," she has written for publications like Newsweek, New York magazine and The Daily Beast and moderated conversations at the Manhattan JCC, 92Y, Skirball Center and Shalom Hartman Institute. She recently celebrated three years as president of Central Synagogue in Manhattan.
"With no minimum gift or solicitation, we extend our warmest welcome to all women who care," says kickoff chair Shari Hier, who is joined by morning program chair Joan Winograd and evening program chair Nancy Gefen. "We look forward to connecting with friends old and new as we embark on a new season of making a difference for so many who count on us here, in Israel and across the globe. We offer women a full array of opportunities to learn, grow, bond, help and celebrate with a supportive community."
Glenmede Investment and Wealth Management is the sponsor of the Dorothy P. Seaman Department of Women's Philanthropy, which is presenting the program. Ivan & Co. Fine Jewelry is the event's in-kind sponsor, and The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor. Dietary laws will be observed. O
