Expect a fun day of golfing for a great cause at the Annual Helping Israel Fund Charity Golf Tournament on Jan. 14 at Boca Rio Golf Club in Boca Raton.
Golfers will also enjoy a barbecue lunch, a cocktail reception and an awards dinner. Dinner tickets are available for guests who prefer not to golf.
"I'm honored to be hosting this premier event," says Glen Golish, president of Golish Financial Group and chairman of the golf tournament. "My business associates, colleagues and friends are proud to support Helping Israel Fund to benefit the soldiers serving in the Israel Defense Forces."
Thanks to a partnership between Boca Raton Synagogue and Temple Beth El, a group of released Israeli combat soldiers who are participating in the Peace of Mind program, run by Metiv: The Israel Psychotrauma Center, will be participating in the event. The speaker for the evening will be a participant of the program who served in the Golani brigade.
Event proceeds will benefit Helping Israel Fund, a nonprofit providing support to soldiers throughout Israel. In 2018, GuideStar awarded the charity its highest level of recognition, the Platinum Seal of Transparency. The projects of Helping Israel Fund are varied - from meeting the basic needs of soldiers to providing medical and emotional support. Helping Israel Fund has provided college scholarships for soldiers while also caring for the widows and orphans of fallen soldiers through The Brigadier General E. Ralph Lupin Memorial Widows and Orphans Fund. O
