On March 12, community members and leaders will gather for the Levis JCC’s Special Night for Special Needs Dream Builder Cocktail Reception.
Lori and Steve Lesser are chairs, and Annie and Norman Jacobson are honorary chairs of the annual event, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation/Baptist Health South Florida, the event honors Sara and Howard Adler and Stephanie and Adam Ginsburg, co-chairs of the first Special Night for Special Needs 10 years ago, and Sam Baker, who will receive the Yad B’Yad – Hand in Hand Teen Leadership Award. This event continues to raise awareness and funds for special needs programming in our community.
The reception, which requires a minimum donation, will highlight the 20 programs of the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department. They include Marleen Forkas Camp Kavod Year-Round Programs; Fit & Fun Sports Program; Fit Drum Enrichment Program; Paul Markhoff Otzar Sunday School; Parents Night Out & Kids Night Out; Schwedelson Young Adult Social Scene & Schwedelson Sunday Social Scene; Move & Mingle Adult Fitness Program; SAVVY (self-defense, safety and self-awareness program for teenage girls and women); Year-Round Parent & Caregiver Support Group and Sibling Support Group; and Zumba Enrichment.
There are many ways members of the community can become involved with the Schwedelson Special Needs Programs, including volunteering for the Fit & Fun Sports Program, Marleen Forkas Camp Kavod and Otzar Sunday School.
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive magazine sponsor. O
