“Their job is to look after Israel. Ours is to look after them.”
This is the motto of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), an organization that cares for the educational and well-being needs of Israel’s soldiers. The FIDF South Palm Beach/Broward and Palm Beach Chapters, led by Executive Director of South Palm Beach/Broward Susan Levin-Abir and Director of Palm Beach Brian Sarran, are among the organization’s most active communities.
The region will kick off 2020 with two inspiring galas, themed A Night of Heroes. The evenings will demonstrate the communities’ unwavering support for the brave men and women serving to protect the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
The FIDF South Palm Beach/Broward Region’s 17th Annual Gala will take place on Jan. 22 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton. Additionally, FIDF is excited to announce the first annual FIDF Palm Beach Gala, on March 18 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
Attending the events will be delegations of uniformed IDF soldiers and officers as well as a variety of both local and national dignitaries. The evenings will give supporters the opportunity to meet and hear firsthand from some of the IDF soldiers whose lives have been forever changed by FIDF programs.
The nonprofit was founded in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors, and FIDF is the only organization working directly with the IDF to determine and fulfill the soldiers’ well-being needs.
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive magazine sponsor. O
