The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host its 39th Annual Together for a Cure: MS Gala Luncheon, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. at Boca West Country Club (or virtually). Money raised from the event will fund cutting-edge research and provide programs and services for the nearly 1 million people living with MS in the United States.
During the luncheon, event co-chairs, Ila Feld Davidoff and Alie Rothman and honorary co-chairs, Monica Goldstein and Carrie Schulman will present the MS Hope Award — the Society’s highest volunteer award — to Paul Polachek and J.W. Douglas Bonds.
Diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS in 2010, Polachek has been a volunteer, donor and friend to the Society along with his partner, Bonds.
Polacheck is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mid-South Florida Chapter and serves on the Budget Development Advisory Committee for the Society. Doug is co-chair of the Fort Lauderdale Community Council, has served on the Fort Lauderdale/Aventura Walk MS Committee for 12 years and is an MS Activist.
The in-person event will have a limited audience; a virtual option is also available.
Designer Mayda Cisneros — a luxury couture brand based in Coral Gables — is back by popular demand. Sponsors include UKG, Hotwire Communications, Fred, Jodi, Lecia and Alie Rothman and Terra Group — The Martin Family.
The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor.
