Samantha Zapolean
On Jan. 20, 500 attendees are expected to gather at Boca West Country Club for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s 40th Annual MS Gala, presented by UKG.
The MS Gala brings philanthropists together for the presentation of the Hope Award, an inspiring keynote address and a silent auction. This event raises awareness and more than $500,000 each year for the Society’s funding of critical research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis.
This year’s gathering will honor Samantha Zapolean, whose mother, Veronique, “Ronnie”, was diagnosed with MS at age 18. Zapolean has lived her entire life helping her mother overcome the challenges of MS, whether emotional or logistical, and remains committed to helping her mother live a near-normal life. The family’s long history with the MS Society distinguishes them among the others.
Attendees will also hear from keynote speaker Dana Bash, chief political correspondent for CNN. Bash will speak about resiliency, overcoming obstacles in life and the importance of perseverance.
“We are grateful to those who attend this luncheon,” says Robin Nunley, National MS Society, Mid-South Florida Chapter president. “Over the years, this gala has raised $9 million which has enabled the Society to fund critical research initiatives and provide comprehensive support services and programs so that people affected by MS can live their best lives.”
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive magazine sponsor.
