The second annual Donald M. Ephraim Sun & Stars International Film Festival presented by MorseLife kicked off on Feb. 27 at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
The festival ran through March 11 and presented 25 films, including documentaries, Jewish-themed dramas, historical epics, LGBTQIA+ narratives, romances and comedies. The festival honored Donald M. Ephraim, who led the Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival for decades and was overseen by Barbara Scharres, the former director of programming at the Gene Siskel Film Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
MorseLife President and CEO Keith Myers said, “The moment Don [Donald M. Ephraim] approached us with the idea of MorseLife becoming the festival’s presenting sponsor, showcasing an array of unique films from across 15 different countries, I recognized an unparalleled opportunity. This festival celebrates the art of international cinema and serves as a perfect stage to showcase MorseLife’s commitment to innovation and diversity, especially through our newly launched Hospice and Palliative Care program. The festival’s international scope and dedication to film excellence mirror our own dedication to delivering the highest standards of care and service, always prioritizing the needs of our patients and their families. Collaborating with Don on this venture truly reflects the essence of MorseLife, and I’m deeply appreciative of this partnership.”
