Hundreds of committed members of the “pride” of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County will gather to rededicate and celebrate at the annual Lion of Judah Luncheon at The Polo Club of Boca Raton on Jan. 30.
Part of an international sisterhood 17,500 strong, the local Lion contingent of more than 700 is among the largest in the country.
“We are thrilled that, this year, our Lions will be roaring with No. 1 New York Times best-selling novelist Jennifer Weiner,” says Shelly Snyder, who is co-chairing the luncheon with Jeanne Fibus. “A charming, witty and unforgettable speaker, Weiner discusses her writings, her personal experiences and the female experience of the search for a sense of self. In the same sharp and entertaining tone that permeates her novels, Weiner wins over audiences with her unforgettable comedic style.”
Adds Fibus: “This luncheon is every season’s premier event in local women’s philanthropy. As always, our roar will resound through our neighborhoods to around the globe, wherever our Jewish family needs us. We invite women of all ages to join our powerful, caring and fulfilling sisterhood and be part of the vital difference our Lions make in countless lives.”
A Lion-level individual woman’s gift to the 2020 UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Annual Campaign is required to attend. Dietary laws will be observed.
The Lion of Judah Luncheon is sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. Ivan & Co. Jewelers and Atlas Party Rental are in-kind sponsors, and The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor. O
