The Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University welcomed 150 friends, colleagues, alumni, community agencies and university leaders for the 13th Phyllis Sandler Heart of Social Work event. The annual celebration honors the tremendous impact social workers make in our South Florida communities and beyond. This year’s event was dedicated to the life and legacy of its namesake, Phyllis Sandler, the visionary philanthropist and devoted Sandler Family matriarch who passed away in December. Nearly $150,000 were raised for student scholarships to support them on their journey toward becoming the social work leaders of tomorrow.
