When it comes to travel, I can think of so many wonderful quotes that speak to me.
“Travel is my therapy,” “Travel is an investment in yourself” and “Life is short and the world is wide,” are just a few.
I’ve always been passionate about travel. While I love my hometown (really, Boca Raton rocks!), there is something both invigorating and replenishing about exploring places beyond the comfort of home. I say this from experience, having just returned from an amazing New Year’s getaway with one of my besties to the exquisite city of Paris.
I’m excited to take you with me on several incredible journeys in our February Travel Issue. Let’s start with “Chile By Design” (page 64) where we explore the beautiful South American country through the lens of high-design, luxury hotels.
For those not up to a full season of cold and snow (yes, I am raising my hand right now!), how about enjoying a long weekend of chilly fun? “City On Ice” (page 70) explores the winter wonderland in dynamic Montreal — replete with skating rinks, ice sculpture competitions, along with places to eat, drink and stay.
Now that you’ve got your cold fix, it’s time to warm up … with the yacht! That’s right, “Seas The Day” (page 82) is a one-stop travel bucket list for those yearning for fabulous destinations enjoyed at sea. With so many options worldwide, I promise it’ll be hard to pick just one!
On a more practical note, one of the few silver linings the pandemic brought was how adaptable we’ve all become to working remotely. Our story “Working It” (page 76) provides insight and tips on how to succeed while taking your job on the road for the ultimate “workcation.”
Lastly, it is with a heavy heart that we mark the 5-year anniversary of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. While there are no words to express the deep pain, sorrow and loss experienced by the families affected, we hope that “Remembering Parkland” (page 88) will help bring our community closer in understanding the tributes and advocacy that was born from tragedy.
Fondly,
Linda L. Behmoiras
