The ancient Roman poet Virgil once said, “Fortune sides with him who dares.”
I love this message because of its dynamic nature. We all have dreams, hopes and aspirations, but taking action, even a tiny first step, is often the biggest challenge we face. As a self-made businesswoman, I can relate. But I can also say it’s often the moments one takes calculated risks that one finds their greatest personal success.
Our September Business & Wealth Issue is filled with stories of both victory and challenges when it comes to finance. We’re thrilled to feature Daymond John, one of America’s most savvy entrepreneurs (and familiar face) on our cover. “American Success Story” (page 58) highlights his extraordinary journey, along with the exciting ventures ahead. I found his aspirations to improve financial intelligence with our youth particularly insightful.
The road to success is paved with good relationships, something Glenn Stearns knows well. Our piece, “One Of A Kind” (page 70), walks readers through his inspiring story, from overcoming adversity as a child to incorporating kindness into his climb to success.
But not everyone is thriving in today’s economy. A huge percentage of the population is struggling to maintain financial stability. “Defying Debt” (page 64) aims to shed some light on this critical problem and offer tips on how to ease the financial burden many face.
Of course, what better way to start good habits than to begin learning them when you are young? Our informative story, “Finance Fun” (page 76), does just that: from preschoolers to teens, we explore the money lessons to take to the bank.
With an abundance of motivational stories to explore, I trust you’ll discover this issue to be as delightful and valuable as I do! And for a quick pivot, this September marks the Jewish High Holidays. To those who celebrate, I’d like to extend my best wishes for a happy, healthy and sweet 5784 New Year. L’Shana Tova!
All the best,
Linda L. Behmoiras
