From the vineyards of France to the markets of Beijing, Naomi Whittel has traveled the world researching health-promoting ingredients.
But the author and wellness entrepreneur calls Boca Raton home, and that's where she recently held a signing to promote her new book, "Glow15: A Science-Based Plan to Lose Weight, Revitalize Your Skin, and Invigorate Your Life."
The book, based on Nobel Prize-winning research and featuring a foreword by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, introduces a 15-day program "to improve overall health, beauty and confidence," according to a press release, via the science of autophagy - "the biological process by which cells break down, rebuild and detoxify themselves."
Named by Prevention as a leading female innovator in the natural products industry, Whittel, CEO of Twinlab Consolidated Holdings, has been a longtime advocate of purity and potency in nutritional wellness. The daughter of a chemist, she discovered the power of natural ingredients while seeking a cure for her eczema.
After researching the anti-aging benefits of bioactive trans-resveratrol, an ingredient in red grapes, she created Reserveage Nutrition and launched the first red-wine resveratrol supplement line in the United States. Reserveage soon became the fastest-growing midsize company in the nutritional supplement industry, and it was later acquired by Twinlab Consolidated Holdings.
Thanks to her work in the natural products industry, Whole Foods Magazine recognized Whittel in its "Who's Who of Manufacturers and Suppliers," and she's a QVC wellness partner.
