Delray Beach is now home to one of the newest franchises to capitalize on America’s passion for fresh, healthy eating. Coolgreens made its South Florida debut at 1841 S. Federal Hwy. Ste. 400 in November, and according to the company’s CEO, is planning to plant more roots in South Florida, including Coral Springs later this year.
The 1,500-square-foot restaurant features salads made from scratch, wraps, grain bowls, açaí bowls and sandwiches.
“We’re thrilled to officially open our doors to everyone in South Florida,” said Coolgreens’ President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Madlener. “We’ve hired an incredible team to help us fuel Delray Beach with fresh food and we look forward to building relationships within the community to serve and educate on the benefits of healthy living.”
The eatery hired 30 people for multiple positions in Delray Beach, so it’s also a boost to the local economy.
The company has been around since 2009 and has 11 locations in Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska and Florida. It’s been able to quickly diversify to keep up with changing demands, such as the Coolgreens Market (launched early 2020), where diners can grab a quick healthy socially distant bite on the go. Guests simply swipe their credit card, open the fridge and make a selection.
It opened its first Florida virtual kitchen in Orlando in January 2021, a smaller version of the restaurant that is used for delivery only.
