Iris Apfel is as sassy as she’s stylish.
And this 97-year-old fashionista isn’t spending her days playing canasta – in fact, she just signed on with the famous modeling agency IMG.
It’s obvious she knows how to dress for success. So, the former textile company owner and decorator – who lives in Palm Beach part time – was a natural choice for Dress for Success Palm Beaches’ Style Icon award, which will be bestowed upon her at the group’s sixth annual Style of Hope fundraising luncheon on March 8 at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
The nonprofit helps women achieve economic independence by providing workplace attire, courses and coaching to build their self-esteem and job readiness.
“The opportunity to spotlight the success and individuality of Iris Apfel as an inspiration to women everywhere is ideally fitting for Dress for Success,” notes event co-chair Bernadette O’Grady, who is also on the board of directors, in a press release.
The program will include A Conversation with Iris Apfel with WPTV news anchor Kelley Dunn, who will talk with the revered style maven about her colorful life.
