Have you heard about The Altair Hotel Bay Harbor?
It’s Miami’s only Kosher hotel. Opened in October 2021, it offers a wide range of kosher services including a kosher breakfast buffet, specially programmed Shabbat elevators, coffee and tea provided during Shabbat, Shabbat keys, a Shabbat candle lighting ceremony and even designated swimming hours at the rooftop pool for men and women.
The 96-room boutique hotel also will soon open a high-end kosher restaurant. Currently, guests and the public are invited to enjoy the daily kosher buffet or a la carte offerings from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The Shabbat lunch and Kiddish buffet starts at 11:30 a.m. and includes wine, grape juice, babka, herring, gefilte fish, chopped liver, egg salad, salmon and cold cuts. Each table is pre-set with challah, hummus, tahini, coleslaw, baba ganoush, matbucha and green salad. Family style menu items offered are schnitzel, Yerushalmi kugel, pastrami and more.
Shabbat dinner includes Dijon Crust Prime-Rib, Potato Kugel, a carving station with brisket, lamb, prime rib, whole chicken and more. The kids buffet offers chicken fingers, hot dogs and pasta. Dessert is a variety of mini petit fours, cookies and fresh fruit.
For guests of the hotel, they offer private en suite kosher meals, a beachside picnic and in-room kosher offerings.
