When you wish upon a star … you’ll find Jamie-Brooke Shook.
The 17-year-old Boca Raton resident is making a lot of dreams come true after spearheading an event that raised $1.4 million for Make-A-Wish.
“I wanted to make a difference and help other kids,” the Saint Andrew’s School student told Forbes.
The fundraising took place during the Forbes/SHOOK Top Advisor Summit, an annual gathering of financial advisors in Las Vegas. Jamie was there with her parents, R.J. Shook, Shook Research founder, and Liz Shook, the company’s chief operating officer, along with three Make-A-Wish kids whose dreams will come true as a result of the donations. Jamie’s father urged attendees to “help children find their smiles … find the spirit, the will, to fight.”
Make-A-Wish grants thousands of wishes each year for children with critical illnesses.
