Attention thespian lovers, the 2022/2023 Boca Stage season has opened with a schedule that will have you laughing, crying and even getting a little spooked. This is the fourth season at Boca Raton’s Sol Theatre and the eighth for Boca Stage after a trying couple of COVID-19 years. This year’s season opened Nov. 4 with Lucas Hnath’s “The Thin Place,” a new, modern spin on the classic ghost story during which the theater was transformed into an intimate séance.
From Jan. 6 - 22, theatergoers will be treated to “Time Alone,” a poetic and poignant drama about two seemingly unconnected people, a widow and a young man serving a life sentence, both seeking redemption.
From Feb. 10 - 26 prepare to laugh with “Grand Horizons,” the story of a couple married for 50 years – until she decides it’s time to split. It’s a comic take on divorce amongst the senior set.
And finally, from March to April 2, the theater presents the classic “The Odd Couple,” but with a spin. Instead of Felix and Oscar it’s Florence and Olive — two bickering roommates who, like their male predecessors, have a love/hate relationship.
“After the intensity of the past few years, we thought we’d take a season to lighten up a little by increasing the comedic content,” says Artistic Director Keith Garsson.
