I love Oprah Winfrey’s quote, “I think that when you invite people to your home, you invite them to yourself.”
Whether you favor a clean, modern aesthetic or you’re all about a crazy animal print, our home is that safe haven where we can truly be ourselves. Having recently remodeled mine with the help of my fabulous designer, I understand the importance each and every detail the process holds, which is why I feel especially connected to our March issue celebrating all things home and design.
It’s not just about the furniture or artwork in our home, it’s about the little things as well. Our story “By Design” (page 86) highlighting the extraordinary talent of Michael Aram — champion of stunning and original home pieces — will make you an instant fan.
On the homefront, we learn about a Boca home transformation in “Decorator’s Dream” (page 80), visit five South Florida residents in their fabulous abodes in “Fantastic Five” (page 92) and also review the differences in minimalist and maximalist styles of two impeccable South Florida homes in “More Or Less” (page 98). Along the way we review the colorful architectural history of Miami Beach in “Building The Magic City” (page 104).
Straying from home design to fashion is our cover story “Fashion Phenomenon” (page 74). It offers a peek into the prolific talent of fashion designer Naeem Khan (whom I had the pleasure of meeting years ago at a charity dinner at my friend’s home in Boca), beginning from his early days in his grandfather’s textile factory in India to his current love for South Florida. I thoroughly enjoyed our recent chat learning more about his history and company.
Regardless of where you are in your fashion and design journey, like me, I’m sure you’ll find it hard to put this gorgeous issue down!
Be Well,
