Buckle up – it’s time for our February Travel Issue!
This is always a fun issue for us to put together as we search for the most exciting and interesting travel destinations near and far. Needless to say, this year is an unusual one, so we focused on domestic travel and experiences that feel safer during this challenging time.
Travel is important – we get to leave behind our familiar world and discover new adventures that make lasting memories. Getting away from home is possible – and it can be a lot of fun. You’ll find plenty of inspiration and ideas for your own getaway in the following pages.
After reading “The Final Frontier” (page 68) you’ll want to heed the call of the wild and head for Alaska where the landscape and climate are entrancingly different from Florida. Join the journey to massive mountain ranges that slope down into crystalline blue glacial lakes where moose, caribou, whales and bears roam free. Pan for gold, explore quirky towns and immerse yourself in a history and culture that will touch your soul.
Next, we sip, swirl and savor our way through four Florida wineries – all within a few hours’ drive – that serve up scenery as spectacular as their vino. Turn to “Heard It Through The Grapevine” (page 76), for a behind-the-scenes look at these charming spots and how they pour unique style and flavor with Florida flair.
Seeking a change of scenery but don’t want to get on an airplane? We’ve got the perfect solution. Check out “On The Road Again” (page 82) our extensive look at exhilarating RV trips. Find out what it’s really like to travel in a rolling “house” – the destinations that await, what you need to bring and all the intricacies of life on the road. Here, you’ll meet a Boca Raton family who traded plane tickets for an RV – traveling to state parks, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and beyond – for a vacation of a lifetime.
Finally, we head to Palm Springs, where visitors can find everything from world-class hiking to vestiges of old Hollywood. Check out “Peeking Behind The Palms” (page 88) for nine sensational places to visit in this unique city.
While we look forward to the days when we can travel easily again (no masks required), we hope your sense of wanderlust will be rediscovered in these pages.
Stay safe and enjoy your travels. We’ll catch up next month.
Best,
Linda L. Behmoiras
