Summer has arrived!
While South Florida is blessed with summer-like weather throughout the year, there’s something extra special and fun about this time. Oprah Winfrey coined it best when she said, “Summer has a flavor like no other. Always fresh and simmered in sunshine.”
Whether headed on a family vacation or spending much-needed time at home (poolside with a piña colada, of course), these months offer a shift in the harried tempo that easily consumes us most of the time. Cue in our June/July Entertainment Issue, which is steeped in inspiring and engaging stories perfect to relax and recharge.
Begin with our cover story, “Candid On Camera” (page 68) featuring the dynamic Lisa Rinna. She shares with us the trajectory of her celebrated career — from her start as a model to her new role in “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”— as well as insight into her long-standing marriage with actor Harry Hamlin.
What better way to seek entertainment than by sitting down with a big bucket of popcorn and enjoying a great movie? “Global Greatness” (page 82) explores the fascinating and little-known genre of foreign films, spotlighting five movies you won’t want to miss.
We often find respite from the challenges of our lives and the world as a whole watching our favorite actors perform. “Star Power” (page 76) highlights celebrities who have stepped outside the screen using their platform, time and money to help make the world a better place. If you didn’t love them already, you’ll adore them even more after this read!
Music lovers with a panache for the past will want to turn to “Reunited And It Feels So Good” (page 96) for a peek at old-time bands experiencing new-found success. It’s music to our ears!
Summer and the beach go hand in hand, but there’s so much more to do than soaking up the rays or going for a quick dip. “Catch The Wave Of Water Sports” (page 94) explores the exciting water activities to partake in. You may want to put on your bathing suit before reading so you’re ready to go!
Last but not least, with Father’s Day on the horizon, I’ll sign off with well-wishes to all the dads reading this. I know I will be celebrating, both my own dad and husband — as well as many other phenomenal amazing fathers in my circle — on June 19.
Warm Regards,
Linda L. Behmoiras
