If we remember nothing else from high school, it's that the first day of the new school year is a total fashion show.
To help your teen get their style game on point for the new semester or all year long, we spoke with stylist Rita Abramson about current and upcoming teen fashion trends. She works with Boca-based image consultancy RiStyled and was named one of the top stylists in South Florida by CBS Miami.
Sneakers. Athletic shoes have never been as trendy as they are now, Abramson says. The sneakers kids used to wear for gym class in the '80s and '90s are long gone and have been replaced by cool and comfortable statement kicks - in wild colors, with rhinestones and embellishments, and featuring lots of bold patterns - for guys and girls.

Denim. According to Abramson, denim is huge for all teens. They're wearing it in a '90s style, ripped and shredded, as well as frayed and raw like the '70s - all paired with sneakers, of course. For girls, embellishments add a feminine touch.
Slogan T-Shirts. Graphic tees with expressions like "Stand Together" or "Bon Weekend" are en vogue, as are vintage- inspired graphics and logos. "Because everyone wants to make a statement, a lot of the younger generation are wearing it on their T-shirts, which is great," she says.

Anoraks. If your teen needs a light jacket, an anorak is the way to go, preferably adorned with plenty of patches, pockets and zippers. Try one in army green, millennial pink or soft yellow.
