Boca Stage
A social worker is forced to make a risky decision with potentially life-altering consequences.
Boca Stage’s newest production is the critically acclaimed play Luna Gale by Rebecca Gilman. Touted by Time Magazine as reaching “the heart and head with equal force,” the plot follows a social worker who is forced to make a risky decision with a potentially disastrous consequence. Boca Stage has once again assembled a stellar cast to tackle this provocative and impassioned work. Luna Gale runs February 25 to March 13, 2022. Tickets are on sale for $45, and $50 for Sunday matinees. Thursday preview, Friday and Saturday evenings are an 8 pm curtain, Saturday and Sunday matinees are 2pm. Reserve your seat at www.bocastage.net or by calling 561-447-8829.
“This is an intense and compelling play, with brilliant dialogue, that grapples with a serious situation while still offering some very funny moments,” said Keith Garsson, Director. “I am excited to be working with this extraordinary cast as they explore these very real and very flawed characters.”
The plot follows Caroline, a veteran social worker, who thinks she has a typical case on her hands when she meets Peter and Karlie, two teenaged drug addicts accused of neglecting their baby, Luna Gale. But when she places their infant daughter in the care of Karlie’s mother, she sparks a family conflict that exposes a shadowy, secretive past—and forces her to make a risky decision with potentially life-altering consequences.
The cast stars Jacquie Laggy as “Caroline,” Abby Nigro as “Karlie,” Jason Pierre as “Peter,” Annya Bright as “Cindy,” Marlo Rodriguez as “Lourdes,” Randall Swinton as “Cliff,” and Brian Edgecomb as “Pastor Jay.”
