Black Americans are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than their White counterparts, and less likely to receive a diagnosis.
When they are diagnosed, Black Americans are typically diagnosed in the later stages of the disease, when they are more cognitively and physically impaired - and therefore in need of more medical care.
