Meet & Greets with Italian Mom Available!
Daniel Franzese, star of the smash hit movie Mean Girls and HBO’s Looking, brings his wildly popular Italian Mom character to the stage in the world premiere comedy of Italian Mom Loves You! It’s the day of Nana’s surprise birthday party and everybody’s comin’ ova. While trying to pull together a proper Italian festa, Antoinette is also juggling her ex, drama with her kids, a real estate transaction, and spying on her neighbor. Italian Mom Loves You! was co-written with playwright Jacques LaMarre (I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti; Love & Spumoni), Franzese performs as his beloved YouTube and Instagram character live for the first time in this hilarious solo tour de force. With laughs and love galore, Italian Mom Loves You! is a tribute to Italian-Americans and mothers everywhere. It’s going to be PHENOMENAL!
In 2012, actor/comedian Daniel Franzese was hanging with an Italian friend who said, “I can invite you up to my apartment, but I don’t have anything to offer you. Not even a piece of cake!” They belly laughed at how much they sounded like their own Italian moms. The very next day, Daniel was trying on dresses to film the first Shit Italian Moms Say video. The video was an instant viral hit! Shit Italian Moms Say amassed over 1 million views overnight. Franzese quickly released Shit Italian Moms Say Parts 2 and 3. Across multiple platforms the popular series has reached over 20 million views!
Over the years, Italian Mom fans have begged for more. When Franzese hosted the LOGO Network sketch show Gay Skit Happens his Italian Mom character appeared on the show at their request. Unfortunately, Italian Mom had to take a backseat when Franzese grew a beard to begin his role as Eddie Bear on HBO’s hit LGBT series Looking. His HIV+ and body positive role received critical acclaim. It wasn’t until the 2020 pandemic that Franzese was able to give the world new Italian Mom material. Soon an offer came he couldn’t refuse (said in his best Don Corleone voice). Instagram requested 26 episodes starring Italian Mom for their IGTV platform. It was then he created Italian Mom: Antoinette Nails Life! Once a week Antionette, named after his best friend’s Italian mom who passed away, gets her nails done while she gossips about her life, and dispenses heartfelt and funny pearls of wisdom. The fans went crazy for it! Italian Mom has a verified Facebook page with 18K+ very active followers. They share, like and comment on anything she posts. The DMs are filled with funny and heartwarming notes from fans who share tales of lost loved ones and the old neighborhood they remember because of these videos. Italian Mom is more than a character. These videos are more than funny sketches; it’s a love letter to Italian-American culture, famiglia, and mothers.
