Music at St. Paul’s presents the International Quartet and the Gallant Quartet

On Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 3pm, Music at St. Paul’s continues its 32nd season with a concert featuring finalists string quartet ensembles from the Lynn University Conservatory of Music 2019 Chamber Music Competition. The program begins with the International Quartet (Alexander Babin and Yu Xie, violins; Jovani Williams, viola; Davron Ziyadjanov, violoncello) playing Joseph Haydn’s Op. 20, No. 4 String Quartet in D Major. The Gallant Quartet (Daniel Guevera and Benjamin Kremer, violins; Mario Rivera, viola; and Michael Puryear, violoncello) will join the International Quartet for Dmitri Shostakovich’s Two Pieces for String Octet, Op. 11. The Galante Quartet then completes the program with Hugo Wolf’s Italian Serenade in G Major and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet, Op. 80 in F minor.
The 3pm concert will be preceded by a pre-concert lecture by Dr. Paul Cienniwa. Tickets for the concert are $20 (18 and under are FREE) and are only available at the door on the day of the concert.
