Thomas the Train: Explore the Rails

The Museum of Discovery and Science's newest traveling exhibit, Thomas the Train: Explore the Rails, presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans, will run from September 15, 2023 January 15, 2024.

Climb aboard everyone’s favorite Steam Engine for a STEM adventure and celebrate as the world’s most beloved blue engine rolls into MODS. Explore the sights and sounds of the island of Sodor, including Knapford Station and Sodor Steamworks.

Create routes or spurs with toy trains and track pieces, build bridges and travel around the entire island at the Island Exploration Table.

Fix Percy’s engine with oversized nuts, bolts, wheels, rods and wrenches and get him ready to chug at Sodor Steamworks.

Dress in a conductor’s uniform while loading and sorting freight and baggage onto train cars.

Learn valuable STEM skills throughout the exhibit by building an intricate wooden train set, assembling a large train and navigating through Thomas’ imaginary world.

Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails was created by Minnesota Children’s Museum in partnership with Mattel, Inc. The exhibit is nationally presented by Fisher-Price.
