Simple but succulent. That’s the premise behind The Halal Guys, which opened its third Broward County restaurant last month.
The new 2,000-square-foot Fort Lauderdale venue will be the brand’s largest in South Florida, with seating for 68 inside and 20 outside. The menu – a melting pot of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors – will include signature items found at the other locales, including the always-crowded food carts in New York City.
Sandwiches and platters feature beef gyro, grilled chicken and falafel, while toppings include onions, jalapeños, olives, green peppers and various sauces. Add in such succulent side dishes as hummus, baba ganouj and fries for a hearty meal. And don’t forget to order baklava for dessert.
The owners, Shahmeer Alam and Shrief Mandour, are also taking over ownership of the brand’s two Miami-Dade restaurants, in downtown Miami and adjacent to the University of Miami campus.
“We’ll be making some tweaks; reconnecting with the community and hosting events and offering special incentives as we take on these two prime locations,” Mandour said in a press release.
