After closing its doors in 2020 due to COVID-19, The Alley is back in business. The modern Italian trattoria is located inside The Betsy Hotel in the heart of South Beach.
The menu offers an array of artisanal pizzas, salads, charcuterie-style specialty cheeses and selected cured Italian cold cuts. Want to take it home? There’s a Ventanita (tiny takeout “window” commonly found in Cuban restaurants) for guests on the go.
“The Alley, much like any other restaurant at the hotel, is more than just a place to enjoy quality food; it’s a welcoming space where everyone in the community can gather over delicious dishes to create long-lasting memories,” says Chef Laurent Tourondel, the creative force behind every culinary concept at the hotel.
Pizza lovers can experience everything from the simplest San Marzano, made with crushed tomato, mozzarella and basil, to the Funghi e Tartufo, made with white mushrooms, truffle, fontina, taleggio and sage. Gluten-free options are available as well.
After dinner, cleanse your palate with soft-serve ice cream made in-house in flavors such as Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl with Amarena Black Cherry and an Amaretti cookie, or, if your tastebuds are more eclectic, try the Vanilla & Mushroom Popcorn, served with a caramel drizzle. You can even just stop by the Ventanita for a sweet treat and freshly brewed coffee.
The Alley is located at 1433 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. For more information, visit thebetsyhotel.com/dine/the-alley.
