Amar Mediterranean Bistro is bringing exciting flavors to downtown Delray Beach.
The new eatery, helmed by owner Nicolas Kurban, who worked alongside Chefs Thomas Keller and Wolfgang Puck, promises to take guests on a culinary journey through the Mediterranean and Middle East.
“Prepared simply and with passion, the ingredients take center stage at Amar in a melting pot of fragrant shared plates that pay homage to owner Nicolas Kurban’s Lebanese heritage,” notes a press release.
“Our goal is to share a bit of the food I grew up eating in my father’s restaurant with South Florida. At Amar, we hope to offer a unique and healthy dining experience to this beautiful beachside community that we love,” Kurban said in a press release.
The intimate restaurant, redolent with fragrant spices and herbs, centers around a wood-burning oven that bakes handmade pita bread.
The menu includes hummus, labneh, fattoush, kibbeh, falafel, spinach fatayer, a variety of grilled meats, kebabs, fish and signature dishes including Stuffed Eggplant and homemade desserts such as Tahini Dark Chocolate Cake with chocolate ganache and sesame brittle. Also available: “Taste of Amar” which leaves the choices up the chef.
“Seasonal vegetables and healthy grains are central to the Mediterranean lifestyle, so more than 30% of our menu is vegan including several of our homemade desserts,” Kurban explains.
Amar is located at 522 East Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach. For more information, call 561-865-5653 or visit amardelray.com.
