What do you get when you combine a love of fútbol with fire-grilled food? Normandy Isles’ newest restaurant, Muchaaachos.
“We chanted muchaaachos throughout our homes and the streets during the 2020 Qatar World Cup championship; it became our anthem and a part of who we are,” says Argentine movie producer-turned-restaurateur Sebastian Aloi, explaining how the name was chosen.
He, along with Leandro Cabanillas, owner of Wynwood wine bar, Ruka, and Katie June Burton, hospitality consultant and photographer, came up with the concept. They brought in Argentine native Chef Sebastian Benitez to create the menu.
Although there are many protein offerings including skirt steak, ribeye, chicken and branzino (whole fish with Provençal sauce and lemon), there are also plenty of veggies such as roasted cauliflower and charred broccolini.
Argentine classics include housemade chorizo served with chimichurri and salsa criolla; fugazzeta, a mozzarella-stuffed pizza with charred onions; choripan, a cancha-style sandwich with housemade chorizo, sliced tomato and chimichurri and milanesa napolitana made with prime beef tenderloin, tomato sauce, mozzarella and hand-cut french fries.
The bar menu offers a large selection of wines and cocktails. Finish off the evening with a sweet treat of Dulce de Leche Flan or Chocomisu, which combines the classic Argentinian Chocotorta and the classic Tiramisu, featuring layers of chocolate and coffee-soaked ladyfingers with dulce de leche cream.
Muchaaachos is located at 933 Normandy Drive in Miami Beach. For more information, visit muchaaachos.com.
