Parisian-born Chef Olivia Ostrow has spent her career pushing the boundaries of the culinary world and continues to do so with her new namesake restaurant Ostrow Brasserie in Miami’s trendy Buena Vista neighborhood.
Created with partner Eli Dadon, it is the city’s first and only French Kosher restaurant. The menu reinterprets classic French dishes using Kosher practices. For example, you won’t find meals that combine meat and dairy, often seen in French fare which often pairs proteins with heavy cream sauces.
Diners will not want to miss Ostrow’s signature specialties, especially the intricate French delicacy called Lamb Paupiette, which features Chicken Scallopini stuffed with Ground Lamb and Prunes, wrapped with Bresaola and served with Truffle Pommes Puree.
The dessert menu includes traditional and not-so-traditional French fare including Chocolate Mousse, Caramelized French Apple Tart and Pear and White Chocolate Bread Pudding.
“I am creating a type of cuisine that doesn’t exist. It’s perfect for the up-and-coming Buena Vista neighborhood,” says Ostrow. “I am taking a risk opening the first Kosher-French restaurant in Miami, but I’m up for the challenge.”
Ostrow Brasserie debuted its dinner menu in August but will be offering lunch and brunch later this year. There will also be a crudo sushi bar with a mashup of French and Japanese flavors.
Ostrow Brasserie is located at 4850 N.W. 2nd Ave., Miami For more information, visit ostrowbrasserie.com.
