Parisians Estelle and Ben Amsallem decided that brunch should not just be reserved for weekends. Having been in the hospitality business, they worked on weekends and missed brunch, so they decided to open Cafe Bastille in Miami, serving brunch all day. The concept has been such a hit, they recently expanded to Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk.
The 4,000-square-foot cafe boasts indoor and outdoor seating featuring Parisian-style charm. Weekends come alive with a DJ from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and guests can take advantage of bottomless brunch classics, such as Mimosas and Peach Bellinis or a Rosé Sangria Pitcher. The unique cocktail offerings include Lychee Collins, French Toast Tini and the Pink Bellini.
Prefer a nonalcoholic beverage? They have you covered. Select from an extensive menu of lattes, espressos, cappuccinos and smoothies with names like passion sunshine and choco peanut.
The extensive menu is decidedly French with Crispy French Toast Bites, mouth-watering omelets, pancakes, waffles or a variety of different Benedicts. And, of course croissants filled with chocolate, Nutella or pistachio. Try a Steak and Cheese Baguette or Salmon Nicoise.
If you can’t find something to satisfy your taste buds on this menu, you’re not looking hard enough.
Café Bastille’s Fort Lauderdale is located at 704 S.E. 1st St., Fort Lauderdale.
