Sommelier, Beverage Director and Entrepreneur Ervin Machado is a big fan of prosecco.
“I’m almost certain 30 percent of my body is made of prosecco. I’m still waiting on the results on that,” he quipped to Spirited South Florida.
And he wants everyone — even those watching their sugar — to enjoy the bubbly. To that end, he partnered with Peninsola Wines, an Italian winemaker, to create EDM Prosecco Zero.
“The collective team collaborated on a unique formula, combining rich history and tradition of quality with a novel fermentation approach to keep sugar content extremely low (less than 3 grams per liter) and your enjoyment guilt-free,” notes the website.
Machado, CEO of EDM Prosecco Zero, adds via a press release, “I have always felt that deciding between great taste and a healthy lifestyle is a false choice. The launch, the first in the U.S., includes two offerings: Prosecco Zero Doc, crafted from Glera grapes harvested in the hills of Italy’s Friuli Venezia Giulia region, complemented by aromas of a floral wisteria acacia and white fresh fruit; and Spumante Rosé, made from Merlot grapes, imparting a bouquet of strawberries and red berries.
