Fashion shows are glamorous events showcasing patterns, colors, shapes and styles. JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care) is putting on a fashion show with purpose as well.
JARC provides group homes, apartments and vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities and on Jan. 26, is hosting a fashion show with proceeds benefiting and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“What makes our fashion show so special is that our models are actually our residents, clients and their family members,” says president of JARC Ellen Gechter.
The models, JARC clients, will walk the runway at The Addison Courtyard in this hybrid event. Audiences can attend in-person or virtually.
For the fourth consecutive year, guests can watch as 15 individuals show off fashion from Finally Chic Clothing and Accessories and men’s fashion from Robert Graham. Master magician and motivator Sam Simon will serve as Master of Ceremonies and be the entertainer.
JARC was created in response to the needs of families with adult children with disabilities. The organization currently operates ten group homes in the Boca Raton and Delray Beach area for special need adults, offering living for those who do not require 24-hour supervision as well as vocational training.
JARC continues to follow all COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Virtual attendees will receive a Zoom link upon registration and all attendees will receive a gift.
