5150 Chocolate in Delray Beach is known for all things chocolate.
From his Rocky Road Bar to Chocolate Covered Candied Bacon, owner Tyler Levitetz pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a chocolatier and always having the freshest, most creative selection. The unique thing about 5150 Chocolate is that Levitetz makes what he describes on 5150’s website as “crazy good chocolate” himself – something he went on to say many other chocolatiers might describe as “impractical and difficult.”
Believing that learning how to make chocolate from scratch would make him a better chocolatier, these words didn’t discourage Levitetz. On the 5150 Chocolate website, he recalls the times his “apartment became a makeshift chocolate laboratory. I used whatever tools I could find to get the job done.” Through trial and error, he finally landed on the incredible chocolate our Palm Beach County community has come to love.
Levitetz hasn’t stopped his journey at just chocolate. After sculpting over 1,000 pounds of chocolate, which is still on view in his factory, he discovered a love for welding. Using old tractor parts and found objects, Levitetz perfected his craft and created a piece he titled “Keith’s Tractor,” a 12-foot-high monumental sculpture made from old plow discs from a friend’s tractor.

The piece, originating from a tractor from Bedner’s Farm, will be on show at the Cornell Art Museum in Old School Square. Levitetz says the purpose of this piece is to bring awareness to the strong agricultural industry in Palm Beach County. “Keith’s Tractor” will be exhibited among many other pieces, such as four colorful watercolor pieces by Takashi Murakami (considered the “Warhol of Japan”), Jill Hotchkiss’ “Celestial” and “Rooted Botanicals” series, mixed media consisting of up-cycled objects by Sonya Sanchez Arias and fiber sculptures by Michelle Drummond.
The museum is open from 12-4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Ticket prices are $15 for general admission, $8 for children ages 4-17 and free for children under 3, Old School Square members and veterans.
