They say what goes around comes around.
And that’s certainly the case with the 1980s, which are alive and well at Death or Glory Bar in Delray Beach.
The venue has been transformed into a nostalgic, '80s-themed lounge for a 10-week pop-up, complete with retro music, drinks and décor (think blacklights, glow-in-the-dark stars, vinyl records – and bras – hanging from the ceiling). Guests who bring in a new or gently used bra will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Once the pop-up ends in April, the bras will be donated to a women’s shelter.
Death or Glory is known for its creative cocktails, and this menu not disappoint, featuring reinvented Long Island Iced Teas; Alabama Slammers; and the popular Sex on the Beach, which is garnished with a branded Death or Glory condom. Some cocktails come in rainbow disco balls or vintage flamingo-adorned glasses.
Cocktails, which are each $12, include:
- Sex on the Beach: Reyka, Smith & Cross, citrus blend, Creme de Mure, peach nectar (and a condom)
- Kamikaze: Steel Tie, Liquor 42, lime, Hell Fire Bitters and honey
- Blue Hawaiian: Plantation, Smith & Cross, lime, house blue curacao Demerara
- Singapore Sling: Waterloo, Benedictinbe, yuzu, Cherry Herring, lime
- Bowie of Christ: Redemption, Plantation, Tawny Port, pineapple and maple
- Disco Snack: Plantation, Chinola, cinnamon, house raspberry liqueur, Elmakule (available as a punch bowl)
- Justin’s First Orgasm: Meyers, Kaluha, Motelobos, banana, house white chocolate cream
And the fun doesn’t end there. During Death or Glory’s trivia night each Tuesday throughout the pop-up, at least one round will be ’80s trivia, and each guest will receive a complimentary ’80s cocktail sample. Talk about tubular.
