Circuses are as old as time, beginning in Ancient Rome with Roman gladiator battles, chariot racing and grimmer events (feeding the enemies to the lions) … all in the name of entertainment. Today, circuses are filled with laughs and feats of agility that leave audiences in awe.
The Fort Lauderdale Wharf, an outdoor venue on the banks of the New River, is hosting a Riverfront Circus from Jan. 13-16. Clowns, stilt walkers, jugglers, acrobats, magicians, dancers and mimes are part of the exciting lineup.
Children and (leashed) dogs are welcomed before 6 pm; the venue is strictly 21+ after 6 pm when cocktails will be served.
