Think of a culinary extravaganza in South Florida and the South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF) is the first to come to mind. Presented by Capital One and renowned as the nation’s largest and most beloved gourmet gathering, it’s scheduled for Feb. 22-25.
This year, SOBEWFF returns with over 105 events, featuring Food Network’s biggest stars, Grammy-winning musicians, lifestyle personalities and more than 500 chefs and wine producers. From Overtown and Wynwood to Hallandale Beach and Miami Design District, SOBEWFF spotlights the vibrant local cuisine and culture that shape South Florida through walk-around tastings, intimate dinners, late-night parties, brunches, lunches, master classes and wine seminars.
Fan favorites returning include the “Heinz® Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons®” hosted by Rachael Ray on Feb. 22, “Coke Zero Sugar Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives LIVE,” hosted by Guy Fieri on Feb. 23, “Tacos & Tequila presented by Tequila Cazadores,” hosted by Aarón Sánchez on Feb. 24 and “Overtown EatUp!” hosted by Marcus Samuelsson on Feb. 25. A much-anticipated new event is “Bobby’s Triple Threat,” hosted by Bobby Flay, Tiffany Derry, Brooke Williamson and Michael Voltaggio on Feb. 24. Of course, SOBEWFF brings back its two iconic open-air tasting tents: American Airlines North Venue and Goya Food’s Grand Tasting Village, both located at South Beach’s pristine sandy stretch.
“The Festival is as much a showcase of great food and drink as it is a celebration of the spirit of Miami,” says Lee Brian Schrager, SOBEWFF founder and director. “The magical setting of Miami is as much a secret to the festival’s success as the amazing local, national and international talent that brings fans back year after year. It’s amazingly rewarding to see the festival that started on the campus of Florida International University (FIU) as an international stage that benefits the school nurturing the great hospitality leaders of the future.” All proceeds from the festival benefit the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at FIU.
