It’s a dog’s life. Or at least it will be on Oct. 25 when Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach opens its 14-acre tropical oasis to pooches – and their humans.
The annual Dogs’ Day in the Garden, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., has all the makings of a fun, socially distanced event.
“This is the perfect opportunity for an entire family, dogs included, to visit the Garden, take a walk on the winding paths, meet other pooch pals and heel for photo opportunities," says Rochelle Wolberg, Mounts curator-director, in a press release. “We invite everyone to come out and be part of this tail-wagging good time.”
Participants can experience 25 unique garden areas filled with more than 2,000 species of tropical and sub-tropical plants, including palms, cacti, roses, herbs and bromeliads.
Don’t miss “Cutting Corners, a Stickwork Exhibition,” on the Great Lawn. The sculpture, designed by artist Patrick Dougherty, was created from 30,000 pounds of willow during a three-week community build.
“The garden’s theme for October is Tropical Halloween, so have fun with it,” notes the Mounts website. “We’ll be taking photos and posting them to Facebook.”
Visitors should bring water and treats for their pooches.
