Mark your calendars! The Judy Levis Krug Boca Raton Jewish Film Festival (JLKBRJFF) announced its Summer Fest Film Series. One Wednesday per month, award-winning films featured in previous festivals will screen at the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center.
Viewed by more than 3,000 cinephiles in 2023, JLKBRJFF is recognized as a premiere destination for Jewish and Israeli films and has become one of the country’s largest niche film festivals, according to a press release. Its mission is “to provide the newest, most stimulating and thought-provoking films that encourage audiences to expand their awareness and understanding of the Jewish world and engage in dialogue to explore the many diverse perspectives portrayed by the films presented.”
Featuring Jewish-themed documentaries, shorts and feature films, including comedies, love stories and political and historical dramas, JLKBRJFF has something for every film buff. Screening on Sept. 13 is “Welcome to Kutsher’s: The Last Catskills Resort.” It showcases Kutsher’s Country Club, the last surviving Jewish resort in the Catskills Mountains during its golden years until it was sold and demolished in 2014. JLKBRJFF Summer Series started June 28 with “Fanny’s Journey” and ends with “Fiddler’s Journey to the Big Screen” Oct. 11.
The 8th JLKBRJFF will take place Feb. 10 - March 2.
