Calling athletes from every corner! Gear up and head to the Magic City on Jan. 28 for the 2024 Life Time Miami Marathon. This prestigious sports event is part of AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championship Qualifier, a series of six of the world’s largest and most renowned marathons where participants not only run for glory, but accumulate points based on their age, time and gender, to qualify for the World Championship.
Life Time Miami’s Marathon features an almost all-flat 26.2-mile course through the Magic City, expected to be completed within seven hours. Certified by the USA Track & Field (USTAF), the national governing body for track and field, long distance running and race walking in the country, participants can anticipate a single-loop course with slightly incline bridges, plus digital time clocks, course makers, directional arrows and entertainment throughout.
Those eager to partake but not quite prepared for a seven-hour run can opt for the half marathon, which covers 13.1 miles in an average time of 3.5 hours.
The starting line is in front of the Kaseya Center at 601 Biscayne Blvd. on Miami’s Biscayne Bay. After completing the 26.2 miles, the grand finale awaits at Bayfront Park (four blocks south) at 301 Biscayne Blvd., where upon crossing the finishing line, runners are welcome to reunite with their loved ones at the post-race Finish Festival. It boasts live music, sponsors and vendors sampling their products and for participants 21 and above, a Tank Brewing Beer Garden beckons to celebrate the grand triumph.
