Get the popcorn ready. It’s time for a virtual talent show that will also raise money for worthy causes.
The family-friendly event, “Virtualoso,” hosted by Artists & Charities Hand in Hand, will feature South Florida residents of all ages who will dance, sing and showcase their talents.
“Virtualoso” is the brainchild of Ingrid Robinson, founder and CEO of Artists & Charities, a nonprofit that has hosted professional art fairs in South Florida.
“I am so excited about the opportunity to showcase the diverse talent we have,” says Robinson in a press release. “Who says you can’t have a little fun, even during these challenging times? Our goal is to raise funds for as many charities as we can by featuring incredibly talented kids and grown-ups and, who knows, maybe we’ll discover a future star?”
Performance videos will be uploaded to VirtualosoTalentShow.com, where the public can view them and vote on their favorite. Contestants will select their charity of choice, and all donations will go directly to that charity. Performers will be in the mix for a prize as well: First place is $1,000, second place is $500 and third place is $250. Finals are expected to take place mid-month; check the website for more details.
“In this time of health and economic concerns, along with struggles with racial inequalities, Artists & Charities believes we can all work together to create a peaceful, supportive society through creative, thoughtful and inclusive events – whether in person or virtually,” notes a press release.
