For the past 30 years, Brandon Luskin, M.D., and Eric Shapiro, M.D., senior partners at Orthopaedic Surgery Associates, Inc., in Boca Raton, have followed the same guiding principle to patient care – diagnosing appropriately and focusing on patient well-being above all else. Both Dr. Luskin and Dr. Shapiro have been practicing this principle since meeting each other during residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1990. Their mutual dedication to promoting what is best for an individual patient has kept them bound together in their practice of medicine.
Both orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Luskin specializes in conditions of the upper extremities, ranging from elbow to hand, while Dr. Shapiro specializes in sports medicine with specific focus on injuries to shoulders and knees.
“What sets us apart is the process of listening, examining and coming up with a diagnosis, then taking into consideration the patient’s goals when formulating treatment options for each individual patient,” says Dr. Luskin.
“Many surgeons believe that the only way to treat patients successfully is through surgery. We make an informed decision after considering all available options. In many situations, surgery is the best option, but, if a more conservative approach allows for a successful patient outcome, we will propose the less invasive option,” says Dr. Shapiro.
Orthopaedic Surgery Associates, Inc., is a multi-specialty orthopedic surgery practice that includes Elvis Grandic, M.D.; Charlton Stucken, M.D.; Daniel Baluch, M.D.; Jonathan Courtney, M.D.; and Rodrigo Banegas, M.D. Together, they are considered one of the most sought after orthopedic groups in South Florida, with offices in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach.
