Dr. Carrie Firestone Baum is a pediatric gastroenterologist within the Division of Gastroenterology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and serves as medical director of patient access and associate medical director of Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multispecialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. Dr. Firestone Baum earned her medical degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell/Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens, New York. Dr. Firestone Baum then pursued a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at LSU Health Sciences Center/Children’s Hospital of New Orleans in Louisiana. She also holds a master’s in public health from the Boston University School of Public Health in Massachusetts. Her clinical interests include gastrointestinal disorders such as functional abdominal pain and constipation, as well as celiac disease, eosinophilic esophagitis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
Dr. Firestone Baum is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences.
