The JEC is a local outreach center that opened its doors 13 years ago to combat the issues of Jewish apathy and assimilation in South Palm Beach County. We have since expanded to the Miami-Dade region. Through a wide variety of engaging programs, classes and trips to Israel, the JEC is dedicated to educating and inspiring Jews of all ages, backgrounds and affiliations. JEC currently touches the lives of 525 people each week through 7 divisions:
Fun Family Hebrew School: An exciting, hands-on and unique Hebrew school experience that offers relevant adult classes for parents alongside their children so that the whole family can grow together.
Camp Nageela Boca: Ensures that every Jewish child ages 5-13 in South Palm Beach County has a chance to connect to their heritage through a vast itinerary of sports, games and field trips coupled with Jewish activities that educate our youth and instill a sense of Jewish pride.
Ohr Fellowships High School Program: Currently 165 high school juniors and seniors learn weekly with a mentor across Boca Raton, Miami, and North Miami Beach through a unique combination of one-on-one study, classes and events.
FAU College Campus Outreach Program: Our campus rabbi and new female staff member connect with 75 FAU students each week through one-on-one learning, classes and Shabbat meals, guiding the students’ growth and mentoring them through life challenges. We operate two homes, one for boys and one for girls who are interested in living a more observant lifestyle.
Women’s Programming: Includes trips to Israel, follow-up events and classes aimed at giving women a clearer connection to Judaism and Israel. Our programs lead to more and more women incorporating Jewish values and traditions into their homes and daily lives.
Shabbat & High Holiday Programming: The JEC provides meaningful explanatory services every Shabbat and on the High Holidays to foster a deeper connection to the days. On any given week, families are joined by FAU students, Hebrew school families and retirees enjoying the joy of Shabbat in their homes.
Adult Education: Classes are given throughout the week at our main office, the Polo Club, and various locations around Boca Raton. Our program includes a new monthly lecture series with exciting speakers, relevant classes throughout the week, and one-on-one learning to inspire local adults.
