Andrew Clementz, M.D., a family physician in Boca Raton, came from a large academic setting where he saw about 25 patients a day. “Patients were rushed, and I was pressured for time,” he says.
“I’m much happier now that I’m at a smaller practice with longer appointment times and more availability. I have the capability to have better relationships and more availability to my patients. They have my cell to reach me after hours and on weekends. It’s a huge game changer for me.”
Dr. Clementz joined Claudia V. Perdei, M.D., at her concierge practice in September. He treats patients in the office and visits them at the hospital. The practice treats adults, mainly 65 and older, who typically hail from Delray Beach and Boca Raton.
He says he doesn’t treat two patients the same. Instead, he caters appointments to each individual. “I don’t take a cookie-cutter approach. Everyone wants their care a little different,” he says.
“Some people want direct information, and some want to be more involved in their care.” When taking medical histories, he gets to know patients beyond their diagnosis. He’ll ask where they grew up, what they do for a living, who they live with. “We get to know them by taking a wholistic approach.”
Dr. Clementz knows that he’s young, having recently graduated from medical school. Still, that youth can be an advantage for patients since he’s up to date on treatment guidelines. His laid-back demeanor is also an asset. “I’m mild mannered, offering a calming presence, especially to those who are more anxious and a little more on top of their health and in tune with tests, labs and imaging.”
Dr. Clementz is board certified in Family Medicine. He received his bachelor’s in science from Florida State University. He graduated with his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. Prior to moving to Boca Raton, he was a family medicine physician in Atlanta. He is on staff and admitting patients at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital and in the process of being credentialed at Delray Medical Center.
